Coatlicue is a representation of Mother Earth and gave birth to all celestial things and her skirt of snakes has earned her the name Lady Serpent Skirt by many Xicanas. For me she represents the connection between earth, the stars, moon, creation and the balance in the universe they are all part of. She is standing in front of a pattern of stars with a serpent pattern designed by the Toltecas over 3000 years ago.
